Hometown Visit October 4th - October 14th

We were so happy to stay “with” Traci, Mike, and Elle in Grand Island. By “with” I mean Big Bend had the best “Harvest Host” spot right on the Niagara River on their property (So NO

it wasn’t a Harvest Host site but we encouraged them to consider making their amazing waterfront property a VRBO RV site!). Traci and I have been best friends since birth so it was a blessing that Big Bend fit in their waterfront yard. It has been years since I have been home so having the opportunity to bring our boys and make this happen during a pandemic was very special.

While visiting western NY we were able to show the boys my hometown, areas around Lake Ontario, University at Buffalo, Fort Niagara, Buffalo, and Niagara Falls. Traci and Mike made sure we had a taste of Buffalo - Buffalo wings, Di Camillo bread, sponge candy, and beef on wick ! YUM! We even showed the boys where the Buffalo Bills play. Watching a great game and a not so great game in Buffalo with Bills fans was a huge highlight! LET’S GO BUFFALO! A special thanks to our fabulous tour courtesy of the Ackermans!

We were able to hang with the Hendersons!!!! They too are traveling cross country - self

contained! It was so fun to be with them for one night...they, too, took advantage of the great Harvest Host RV site outside of Traci and Mike’s home:).

We also had a great opportunity to tour Traci’s studio. Traci is the founder of Red Disk where they handcraft beautiful, silk screened artisan wallpaper. We are in awe of her talent and passion. Everyone needs to check our her website! https://www.reddiskstudio.com

Because of COVID, sadly we were not able to see friends and family but we ended our trip with a very special visit t see our Aunt Barb. We sure wished we could have safely beamed Grandma Margaret to be with us.
