Originally we thought we would push on through to Coeur D'Alene...but that was not going to happen when we were out of touch with how long it would take to pack for 8 months and 4 seasons! Plan B - drive to Uncle Rick's and Aunt Vickie's in Umatillo. Thank God they could have us with our rather large 5th wheel (43'! - ugh).

The first night was great..but after checking out the forecast for the next day, we knew we would need to hunker down. We had no idea what was coming our way. Monday started with a slight breeze. This grew steadily into wind gusts of 65mph. By late afternoon a fire started across the river and was within .25 mile from us. Steve decided it was time for us to prepare to depart in case they could not get the fire under control. We had our rig ready to go but thankfully by 10pm the fire was under control. Needless to say, sleeping in a fifth wheel with wind gusts of 60mph does not make for a pleasant slumber! Oh and did I mention, this was the first night Steve did not use Alexa's windy trees skill.

Tuesday morning...it was time to push out for to Missoula, Montana.
